Dense loading method for catalysts and adsorbents loading

Dense loading

Catalyst dense loading is carried out in order to create a uniform density of the layer for reactors of radial and axial raw materials input. Homogeneous density of the layer gives uniform pressure drop and improves flow distribution inside the reactor. Dense loading allows to increase the number of loaded catalyst depending on its type from 10 to 20%.

Dense loading method for catalysts and adsorbents loading

As a result of dense loading, homogeneous in density and porosity bulk layer of particles with the following characteristics is obtained:

  • Bulk density value inclination of reactor radius does not exceed ±1.0% from average;
  • Bulk density of particles is 10-20% higher than the same parameter for traditional loading methods: in bulk or through the sleeve. Bulk density value can be adjusted by changing the loading parameters;
  • Homogeneous structure provides uniform distribution of filtered stream characteristics in cross-sections of the layer;
  • Compressed air application allows to separate transportation and storage dust from the catalyst,and remove it from the reactor;
  • The same way dense loading is done for adsorbent in the adsorbers, catalyst in tubular reactors, etc.
